An electroacoustic piece built around a journey back home. It moves through a mental map and focuses on the very essence of movement: how does movement happen, and what makes it possible?

Movement here is non-linear — each directed action meets a different density of resistance. The transition between points unfolds on two levels of perception: the external-objective and the internal-subjective.

The work draws on field recordings made in Siberia and on digital audio processing techniques. The composition began to take shape during the trip itself, but took a year and a half to complete; the initial set of recordings was continually expanded with acousmatic effects and timbral detailing.
