Zhar-Tsvet
“Zhar-Tsvet” (Fireflower) is an electronic composition based on the artist’s original field recordings from the mountains of Karachay-Cherkessia. The piece explores the practice of deep listening to nature, which encompasses experiencing the wondrous and embodying alternative perception. Through layered textures and spatial sound processing, the composition forms a mystical abstraction, a warm personal image with traces of breath and presence. Here, sound becomes a testimony to attentive listening to non-human voices, a trace of empathic interaction with the surrounding world, an artifact of experiencing absolute darkness and flashes of light.
